A full site redesign for Kitchen On Fire, a California-based cooking school and culinary wellness company. Every page was redesigned using Elementor and Pro Elements — covering 40+ pages across core services, corporate wellness programs, AssetMark partnership pages, class listings, blog, and resource sections — with strict URL preservation for SEO, shortcode integrations, form fixes, and mobile responsiveness across all pages.
Kitchen On Fire — Full Site Redesign with SEO URL Preservation
Overview
Kitchen On Fire is a California-based cooking school offering in-person classes, virtual classes, corporate wellness programs, catering, nutrition consulting, teen camps, and community outreach. The project involved redesigning every page of the site using Elementor and Pro Elements — with a strict requirement that no URLs were changed throughout the redesign to fully preserve existing SEO rankings and inbound links.
The Challenge
The scale and complexity of this project went well beyond a standard redesign. Key challenges included:
- Redesigning 40+ pages across two major content groups — Core KoF pages and AssetMark partnership pages — without touching any existing URL slugs
- Integrating third-party shortcodes for class listings (Virtual Classes, All Cooking Classes, Nutrition Classes, 12-Week Series, Teen Cooking Camps, Gift Cards) while building static Elementor design sections around them
- Resolving form issues across multiple pages — error message visibility, icon display, success message styling, and required field mismatches
- Fixing mobile responsiveness issues across all pages including card spacing, blog pagination category display, and sidebar overlapping footer
- Identifying and correcting a range of pre-existing issues — slug mismatches, wrong headers, missing images, incorrect form placements, and page errors
Scope of Work
The full redesign covered 40+ pages across two content groups:
Core Kitchen On Fire Pages
Home, Nutrition Classes, Catering, Corporate Wellness, Events, Contact Us, IP Basic Series Students, Press and Awards, Our Team, Healthful Chef Services, Nutrition and Wellness Talks, Gift Card, 12-Week Basics of Cooking Series, About Our Classes, Blog, Class 1 Knife Skills, Community Outreach, IP Basics Alumni Student Resources, IP Basics Student Resources, Teen Cooking Camps, Virtual Classes, All Cooking Classes.
AssetMark Partnership Pages
Food Choices For A Better You, Living Your Best Life 2024, AssetMark Menu Planning, Celebrate for Health, The Pillars of Well-Being, Recipes and Demos, AssetMark Smoothie, Eat Well Without Breaking the Bank, Fuel for Success and Vitality, Happiness for Health, Self Care Team Care and Laughter, AssetMark Wellness Recipes, Lifestyle Changes When Our Plate is Full, Lifestyle Changes for Disease Prevention, Cooking for the Week, Be Your Best Self While Working Remote, Summer Home Cooking Classes.
Development Process
Redesign Approach
Each page was redesigned from scratch in Elementor using Pro Elements — matching the visual direction of the updated design language while preserving all existing URL slugs without exception. For pages featuring third-party class booking shortcodes, static Elementor design sections were built around the shortcode placement to deliver a fully designed page experience while keeping the booking functionality intact.
Form Fixes
Form issues were identified and resolved across multiple pages — including error message visibility problems, error icon display issues, success message styling, required field configuration mismatches on the Contact page, and incorrect form placements on the Catering page. The Contact page Google Maps link was also added where it was missing.
Shortcode Integration
Shortcode-powered sections for Virtual Classes, All Cooking Classes, Nutrition Classes, 12-Week Basic Series, Teen Cooking Camps, and Gift Cards were placed correctly within fully designed Elementor page layouts. Static design fallback sections were built where shortcode-only implementations left visual gaps.
Bug & Issue Fixes
A range of pre-existing issues were identified and corrected throughout the project — including a slug mismatch on the Events page, a wrong header on the Blog page, missing images on the Catering page, a page error on AssetMark Pillars of Well-Being and Lifestyle Changes pages, an incorrect section on the IP Basics Student Resources page, a missing section after the shortcode on Teen Cooking Camps, a slow-loading upcoming series issue on the 12-Week Series page, a font weight issue on Corporate Wellness, a heading style mismatch on the Food Choices page, and a mobile sidebar overlap on the Recipes and Demos page.
Mobile Responsiveness
All 40+ pages were reviewed and refined for full mobile responsiveness — including card spacing on Nutrition and Wellness, blog category display after pagination, and sidebar-footer overlap on AssetMark pages.
