Overview
DinBangla is a Bengali-language online news portal requiring a complete design overhaul without any disruption to its existing content. The project involved transferring the theme and design from a reference news site — CoxsBazarKontho — onto the DinBangla domain while preserving all published news articles, database records, and existing site data in their original state.
The Challenge
The core challenge of this project was performing a clean design swap without touching the content layer. Key considerations included:
- Extracting and applying the CoxsBazarKontho theme and design to DinBangla without breaking existing content structure
- Ensuring all published news articles, categories, tags, and database records remained completely intact after the migration
- Maintaining site functionality and front-end display consistency after the theme transfer
- Completing the work within a tight deadline
Development Process
Assessment & Preparation
Both sites were reviewed before any work began — the current DinBangla design and database structure were assessed alongside the CoxsBazarKontho design to plan a clean transfer approach. A full backup of DinBangla was taken to ensure all existing content could be restored if needed.
Theme & Design Transfer
The theme and design from CoxsBazarKontho was transferred and applied to the DinBangla website, replacing the existing visual design entirely. Theme files, settings, and configurations from the reference site were adapted and implemented on DinBangla to replicate the target design accurately.
Data & Content Preservation
Throughout the entire process, DinBangla's existing database — including all published news articles, categories, authors, and site content — was kept fully intact and untouched. The design migration was executed as a presentation-layer change only, with no modifications to the content or database structure.
