Overview
CareersPursuit is a job board and career advice platform connecting job seekers with opportunities and career resources. The project focused on a site-wide responsive redesign and refinement pass — addressing layout inconsistencies, branding mismatches, and functional issues across the entire platform before a clean migration from the development environment to the live site.
The Challenge
The existing site had accumulated layout and responsiveness issues across multiple pages and sections. Key areas that needed attention included:
- A header that wasn't structurally sound or responsive across breakpoints
- Inconsistent spacing and layout across the homepage and all inner pages
- Branding inconsistencies — green icon colors and favicon didn't match the intended blue brand direction
- A broken job search on the homepage that wasn't correctly handling keyword and region inputs
- Job categories out of sync between the site and the main platform
- A development-to-live migration that needed to be executed cleanly without data loss
Scope of Work
- Branding Updates — Favicon updated from green to blue, icon colors updated site-wide to match the correct brand palette
- Job Categories — Extra job categories removed by cross-referencing with the main site, footer job category list updated accordingly
- Header — Fully restructured and made responsive across all breakpoints
- Footer — Spacing adjusted and made fully responsive
- Homepage — All sections restructured with adjusted spacing and full responsiveness; hero search section field margin issue resolved
- Inner Pages — All sections across Career Advice, Contact Us, About Us, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Disclaimer pages adjusted for spacing and responsiveness
- Job Search Fix — Homepage job search resolved to correctly handle keyword and region filter inputs
- Site Migration — Full backup taken via UpdraftPlus on the live site before migration; site migrated from development to live with all plugins and code snippets activated and verified
